What is Lotic?

Lotic refers to moving water, like streams, rivers, creeks, and springs.  And moving water is vital.  These lotic systems bring life to everything around them.  In the arid American West, dynamic lotic systems have shaped our landscape and created our communities.  We depend on these scarce moving waters for our food, our work, and our fun.  Streams and rivers are the focal points of Western lands, and add character to our homes.

Moving water is also active, both literally and figuratively.  That's why we've created Lotic, llc. to shift some of the complicated technical "actions" involved in using and enjoying water from you to us.

Lotic focuses on making the most of your water, so you can make the most of everything else.

Our Work

One value of water can be measured by owning a legal right to use it.  In the West, these water rights are governed by each state under the Prior Appropriation Doctrine.  Lotic's expertise lies in our ability to navigate through the layers of water right laws, rules, history, and possibilities to provide innovative water strategies.

Our purpose is simple: create and execute value-added water plans that meet our client's goals.  To do this, we approach each project with our unique aptitudes: 1) business acumen, 2) water ingenuity and 3) constant creativity.
